Need movers today or tomorrow? Call 443-622-4869. Mosby Movers runs crews seven days a week out of Abingdon, Maryland, and same-day and next-day moves are often open, especially Monday through Thursday. Openings go first come, first served, so a phone call beats a form.
When people call us at the last minute
- Your movers cancelled or never showed up.
- Your lease ends sooner than planned, or the closing date moved.
- You rented a truck and need two people to load it.
- One big piece has to go today: a sofa, a dresser, a washer.
What a same-day move costs
The same as any local move: $185 an hour with a four-hour minimum. That covers the truck, a crew of two or three movers, furniture wrapping, and taking beds and tables apart and putting them back together. There is no rush fee for short notice, and no extra charge for stairs, traffic or tolls.
The clock starts when the crew knocks and you let them in, and it runs through loading, the drive, unloading and reassembly. The drive to your first stop is free. After the minimum, time is billed in half-hour steps, and a partial half hour is not charged. Full details are on our rates and policies page.
Already have a truck or a pod? Labor-only help is $165 an hour for two movers with a three-hour minimum.
What we need from you on the call
- Both addresses.
- Floors, stairs and elevators at each end.
- The big pieces: sofas, beds, dressers, appliances, any piano.
- When you have to be out.
With that, we can tell you right away whether a crew is open and give you a straight estimate.
