Apartments and townhouses are the core of what we move. Stairs, elevators, leasing-office rules and tight parking are part of the job, and our rate already covers them. Mosby Movers has been moving Maryland families since 2016.
The rate
$185 an hour with a four-hour minimum. That includes the truck, a crew of two or three movers, furniture wrapping, and taking beds and tables apart and putting them back together. There is no added charge for stairs, traffic or tolls.
The clock starts when the crew knocks and you let them in, and stops when the last piece is set and reassembled. The drive to your first stop is free. After the minimum, time is billed in half-hour steps, and a partial half hour is not charged.
Most apartment moves are billed by the hour. Bigger homes and long-distance moves usually get one flat price after a free estimate, in person or by video. See all rates and policies.
How long will my move take?
Three things decide it: how much you have, the stairs or elevator at each end, and how far the truck parks from your door. Square footage matters less than people think. Tell us those three on the call and we will give you an honest estimate before you book.
Before move day
- Reserve the elevator or loading area with your leasing office, and ask about their move-in rules.
- If your building requires a certificate of insurance from movers, tell us when you book.
- Townhouse or HOA community? Check whether a moving truck needs notice or a parking spot.
- Pack boxes and label them by room. We wrap the furniture.
- Want help packing? We pack at a flat price or by the hour. Boxes are extra, or use your own.
