Historic Main Street

The hill is real, the street is narrow, and the buildings sit right on it. Where a truck can legally stop, and how far the carry runs from there, decides the day — and on some blocks a full-size truck simply cannot work, so we shuttle with a smaller vehicle instead. We would rather look at the approach in advance than commit a loaded truck to that hill.

The upper floors along Main Street are reached by stairs built for a different century: narrow, steep, and turning at every landing, often with low headroom over the turn.
